Subtle Saturdays

by blackjuan @ 2005-12-10 - 14:26:34

A well deserved brake from the lunancy of never ending education to the sanctuary of the sane world of blogging. I have neglected this portal for the last 3 days, not that anyone noticed(ummm), but 2 things bring me back.
An attempt to recover my sanity, away from essays, word counts, spreadsheets and ms project. Anyhow, England got the dream draw, lets see, we draw against Trinidad, beat Sweden 1-0, and qualify for the last 16 in 2nd position, to meet Germany. Now that will be thrilling, that was a dream.

This is serious though, the 4 hostages being held in Iraq, are we seeing a change in the way hostage negotiations are carried out? It is now being done through videos and TV stations, messages of appeal have been aired from Hamas to jack straw, hezzbollah to Abu qatada, I think this is unprecedented. Like I always ask, are we seeing the end to classical journalism? Media studies are going to prove worthwhile after all.
have a wicked one. I am hitting the town after the Audely-Danny fight, hope I get lucky, flatmate is away visiting her Mom, so the coast is all clear, wonder what will take my fancy? Another Polish maid perhaps? No, I feel like having a meaningful erotic dialogue this time... so it will be the usual......

it looks quiet but on the top there is so much teror hate and g_d knows what als....
where i live terror is a middle name. we live the day, cause u dont know what the next day will bring. sad. just the other day a suicide bommer exploded killig so many people-what for.as i was walking in the city going to work the other day , the police stopped us from going through because there was a suspicious bag next to a lamp post. they had to explode it- of course it was just garbage somebody left there but ur heart is missing a beat each time u encounter a bag like that....thats life i guess
have a quiet sutyrday- do something good for yourself....

I do share your worries, and never at any single moment do I fail to thank God for the blessings I have got. At least i do not have to worry about not making it at the end of the day. You are right it makes you look at life in a less serious way. Stay Safe

Varied thoughts, serious tones with the necessary humour to make it all bearable.

England musnt underestimate the so-called minnows. they will pay dearly otherwise. Remeber Senegal and France in 2002? that was a lesson in bhumility i think.
cant you have a meaningful erotic dialogue with a polish maid? i know variety is the spice of life but,....

Alas I could not, the only thing we agree upon was to kiss each other's bodies all over, but her oral skill were abit lacking, and the language failure made it impossible to make my sentiments plain.
Senegal, even South korea against Italy, I lost a tenner on that one , the bastard italians. Anyway, I think England has a fair chance, come on Rooney, Owen, Gerard, the list is endless, for once be a ture english rose, have faith and be postive for the 3 lions. we are winning the world cup.

BJ what did you think about the Audely-Danny fight? Even though Audely boxed at my old club, Repton, I can't stand the geezer. I can't see how that one judge scored the fight for Audely, I thought Danny bossed ten rounds and one waz 10-8.

Ha, I saw the fight, and up to now, I do not know how it ended up being a split call. Harrison was at his most pathetic, I have never seen him so bad, he lacked the bottle, did not use his size advantage, and fair play to Danny, he tried at least to box, it was typical of Danny, he gives it his best. I remember when he fought in Germany against a turkish thug for the european belt, he was beaten to a pulp, but he still came on.
I loved the kO, harrison did not know what hit him, all talk and mouth.
However, it is gonna be bloody Matt skelton v Danny, Skelton is a brawler. I will go 50-50 on that one.

That's exactly how I saw the Danny - Harrison fight. Actually i think the ref could have deducted a point of Harrison for holding - might have turned it into more of a fight.

That Turk sam whatever his name is, He was a world champ as an ameatuer and beat Harrison, so he was a world class fighter. Danny got a lot stick over that, which I thought was unfair and he got stick for losing the Klitschko!!! I think he's always been underrated - I won money on the Tyson fight, I knew he'd do him.

Skelton is a tricky one coz he's faster than Danny they're both bangers so their ain't going to be any running around the ring. Someone will get sparked. But to come off the fence I'd say Danny would win it. But there is no one in the heavy weight division who's a patch on Lennox Lewis.
